Mary Gilmer
Owner & Dispatch Mary started Tow Jamm Marine over 33 years ago with her late husband Bill. Through hardwork and determination she grew the business and it’s reputation to what it is today. Mary’s calm, reassuring voice and in-depth knowledge of the the Bay and her business have helped thousands of people over the years. |
Sarah Lawrence
Dispatch & Marketing, Captain Capt. Sarah grew up in the family business. Sarah went on to school at St Mary’s College where she graduated while competing in sailing at the collegiate level. Sarah is a Licensed 100 ton USCG captain. She owns and operates Chesapeake Boating Academy, our on-the-water training boating school with locations in the Kent Narrows and Edgewater. Capt. Sarah also Captains aboard the towboats when she's not teaching boating classes. She handles dispatch and marketing for the business- look for her at the spring and fall powerboat shows! |
Trevor Hammon
Captain Trevor was born and raised on the Eastern Shore. He is a licensed 100-ton USCG Captain and has worked for Tow Jamm Marine for over 17 years. Trevor is a true waterman that works year round as a crabber and a hunting guide when not working fulltime for Tow Jamm Marine. Trevor’s skills and composure is second to none. |
Adam Lawrence
Fleet Captain Adam has been a yacht captain for over 20 years. He is licensed 100 ton USCG captain. His experience on the water as well as ability to help maintain the fleet have proved invaluable to Tow Jamm Marine. Adam is married to Sarah and the father of two little captains in training. |
Alex Sterling
Captain Alex came to Tow Jamm Marine in 2017 and is an integral part of the team. Alex is a licensed Master 1600 GRT Captain as well as a certified dive master. He is also an Eastern Shore Native. Alex is also a head captain aboard Tugs up and down the East Coast. He is passionate about fishing, diving, health and the outdoors. We are happy to have his local knowledge and help, both as a part-time captain and as a salvage diver. 
Larry Nagel
Captain Larry joined Tow Jamm Marine in 2025 and immediately fit into the team- jumping into assist boaters, help with late night calls and adapt to the unknowns of the marine assistance environment. Larry excels in boat handling, mechanics and teamwork. Larry is an Eastern Shore native and enjoys spending time with his family aboard their boat, on the farm or riding his bike. We're excited to welcome Larry aboard! |
Patrick Donovan
Diver Patrick joined Tow Jamm Marine in 2021 as a diver. He is the owner of Donovan Diving Services, based out of Centreville, Maryland. Donovan is a Maryland local and is a career Firefighter. He is competent and calm in the water and always prepared for varying situations. Patrick is always ready to jump in, help out and solve problems. 
Scott Smith
Captain Capt. Smitty is an Eastern Shore native and lifelong boater with a background rooted in service and seamanship. A retired Prince George’s County Police K-9 officer, he now focuses on vessel deliveries and captain services, regularly running boats along the East Coast. He has also served as a captain on the Key Bridge project. In addition to Tow Jamm Marine, Capt. Smitty is a captain with Chesapeake Boating Academy, bringing strong boat handling, attention to detail, and a professional, friendly demeanor to every job. |
