Mary Gilmer Owner & Dispatch Mary started Tow Jamm Marine over 33 years ago with her late husband Bill. Through hardwork and determination she grew the business and it’s reputation to what it is today. Mary’s calm, reassuring voice and in-depth knowledge of the the Bay and her business have helped thousands of people over the years.
Sarah Lawrence Dispatch & Marketing, Captain Capt. Sarah grew up in the family business. Sarah went on to school at St Mary’s College where she graduated while competing in sailing at the collegiate level. Sarah is a Licensed 100 ton USCG captain. She handles dispatch and marketing for the business. Keep an eye out, she is also a mother of two little captains in training. Capt. Sarah also owns and operates Chesapeake Boating Academy, an on-water training school in the Kent Narrows.
Trevor Hammon Captain Trevor was born and raised on the Eastern Shore. He is a licensed 100-ton USCG Captain and has worked for Tow Jamm Marine for over 10 years. Trevor is a true waterman that works year round as a crabber and a hunting guide when not working fulltime for Tow Jamm Marine. Trevor’s skills and composure is second to none.
Adam Lawrence Fleet Captain Adam has been a yacht captain for over 20 years. He is licensed 100 ton USCG captain. His experience on the water as well as ability to help maintain the fleet have proved invaluable to Tow Jamm Marine. Adam is married to Sarah and the father of two little captains in training.
Bo Phillips Captain Bo has worked for Tow Jamm Marine since 2009. He is a licensed Master Unlimited Tonnage Captain. Bo was born and raised on the Eastern Shore and works part time with Tow Jamm Marine. He knows the local waters like the back of his hand. His full time job is as Chief Mate of a large ATB tug for Moran Tug, transiting the East Coast and Gulf regions. Bo is an accomplished captain and brings a diverse skillset to the team; we are glad to have his experience and poise as a part time captain out on the water.
Carter Mclendon Captain Carter joined our team in 2021 as a part-time Captain. After graduating from Mass Maritime, Carter got a job working for Moran Tugs where he works between New York and the Gulf Coast. Carter lives locally and has a wealth of boating experience and knowledge spanning from small to large vessels. Carters enthusiasm, boat handling and local knowledge make him a much welcomed addition to the Tow Jamm team.
Patrick Donovan Diver Patrick joined Tow Jamm Marine in 2021 as a diver. He is the owner of Donovan Diving Services, based out of Centreville, Maryland. Donovan is a Maryland local and is a career Firefighter. He is competent and calm in the water and always prepared for varying situations. We are very excited to welcome Patrick to the team.
Alex Sterling Captain Alex came to Tow Jamm Marine 3 years ago. Alex is a licensed Master 1600 GRT Captain as well as a certified dive master. He is also an Eastern Shore Native. Alex is currently working full time with Intracoastal Marine at Poplar Island. We are happy to have his local knowledge and help, both as a part-time captain and as a salvage diver.
Ryan Silbaugh Captain Ryan joined Tow Jamm Marine in spring of 2020 and brings years of experience, spanning from his time in the Navy, marine construction, dive master and as an engineer Ryan holds a 100 ton USCG license with endorsements. He excels in communication, boat handling and places safety and logistics as top priority. Ryan’s skillset and upbeat, professional attitude are a great asset to Tow Jamm Marine and we look forward to continuing to provide the best marine assistance to boaters on the Chesapeake.
