SMALL, LOCAL BUSINESS- OUR HISTORY

Tow Jamm Marine started in 1989 with 2 people, Mary & Bill Gilmer and 1 green towboat. At the time, there was not a big presence of marine assistance towing & salvage on the Chesapeake like there is today. We began 24/7 assistance for boaters and the rest has been history. In 1991 we signed a contract with BoatUS to become affiliated with the nations largest on-water towing fleet. We continued to grow our fleet and our captains with the mission to provide safe, reliable and quality service to boaters in need. We owe our success to our customers, local marine businesses (marinas, boat yards,mechanics), word of mouth and more (too many of you to list!). Because of your support over the years, you’ve helped a small business grow, add employees, support families and the local marine economy and beyond. For this, we thank you and you have our word that we will always be ready, 24/7, to come to your assistance.  (Mary & Bill’s grandchildren are now growing up as 3rd generation towboaters!) The boating world is small and when you support local businesses, it has a positive effect throughout the community. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
